Garrett Stoerger has been involved in the food and agriculture industry his entire life. Raised on a grain farm in the Midwestern United States, Mr. Stoerger received a first-hand account of the challenges of production agriculture and family business dynamics. His education extended his experience beyond production agricultural operations, receiving a degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in agribusiness, farm and financial management. After receiving his degree, Mr. Stoerger worked for the University of Illinois Extension for two years, offering educational programming to agribusiness professionals across the country.
Mr. Stoerger joined Verdant Partners in 2009 as an Associate. His initial role with the firm was project support, market research and financial analysis. Mr. Stoerger was promoted to a Senior Associate in 2013, taking a more active role in new business development and transaction management. After proving his capabilities to successfully source and complete M&A transactions, he became a Partner in the firm in 2015.
Mr. Stoerger’s focus spans the spectrum of the crop food and agriculture value chain, from fundamental grower inputs to high-value fresh produce. He is captivated by the continuous evolution and resilience of the participants in the industry and their commitment to bring high value, low cost, healthy and safe food to consumers. Mr. Stoerger believes that the current movement towards the digitalization of the food and agriculture market will prove to be the most transformative shift in history.
Mr. Stoerger is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) providing a full range of business valuation services and a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, and is an active member of several food and agriculture industry trade organizations. In his spare time, Mr. Stoerger enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and good food.
