Role purpose

The Account Manager is accountable for sales, budgets, business planning and relationship management between AgriThority® and clients; serving as a key member of the Sales and Client Service Team in North America.

Accountabilities

Client Management

  • Oversight of client planning and proposal development and overall project planning for each assigned account—on-target, on-time, and on-budget
  • Responsible for development of sales, planning, business plans and budgets for assigned territory and accounts
  • Serves as the liaison between Company and clients, must have an in-depth understanding of both the Company and the clients, including strategy, decision-makers, influencers, duties, and financials; leverages this information when developing and building an account service bundle
  • Ensures effective communication occurs between clients and Company
  • Ensures the clients are optimizing the value of products and services provided by the Company

 

Project Management

  • Manages the delivery of client projects, working with AgriThority Science & Technology Group and Project Management staff for delivery of on-time and on-budget projects, to a standard that meets our clients’ goals
  • Prepares and reports dashboards, including discrepancies; develops, communicates, and seeks buy-in (internal and external) around budgets, timelines, milestones, and deadlines
  • Special projects as directed by Management

 

Client Engagement

  • Serves as the primary point of contact to assure the client is aligned with Company Development/Consulting services
  • Determines clients’ needs, agendas, concerns and communicates these to appropriate internal staff
  • Coordinates consulting proposal and assures AgriThority proposal does not over-promise
  • Stretches AgriThority capabilities
  • Determines company needs, agendas, and concerns and communicates these to the client
  • Aligns company products and services to client needs

 

Sales Accountabilities

  • Sells AgriThority services; duty to maintain, retain and upsell the client
  • Identifies and sells new clients
  • Assures post-sales follow-up
  • Identify potential new markets
  • Maintains current trends in the marketplace and new ways of thinking in agriculture

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

   Critical knowledge

  • Advanced degree in Agriculture or related field.
  • Minimum 15+ years in Sales or Account Management experience in Agriculture science and innovation
  • Working knowledge of Biological and Precision Ag is a plus
  • Demonstrates success in planning, directing, and implementing multiple and concurrent projects

   Critical experience

  • Deep understanding of the agriculture and horticulture industry and able to provide unique insights into clients and company
  • Very strong interpersonal skills particularly motivational, negotiation, listening, judgment, analytic ability, and conflict management skills
  • Strong technical and business subject matter expertise in the Agribusiness space

   Critical technical, professional, and personal capabilities

  • •Advanced selling and negotiation skills
  •  Strong track record in conquesting new clients and retaining existing clients
  • Demonstrated strategic, analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills
  • Excellent and demonstrated communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong team orientation, with the ability to collaborate, influence, and negotiate

      • The job is in the Kansas City, MO. office
      • Travel Requirements – 70%
